MHC-I Therapist Intern

“The therapist under the supervision of Dr. Ripplinger was able to help me process some of the things I needed help with.”

Natalia New 900x1200 Working Together…

You will feel safe to allow your most authentic self to be seen and heard. Through our guided conversations in either English or Spanish, we will build together the path you’re seeking to live with more purpose and meaning. Yes, therapy will likely involve talking about the not-so-comfortable topics, but in a supportive and compassionate environment, it may become easier than you think.

I work well with first generation college students, LGBTQ+ and BIPOC entry-level professional men and women who are navigating anxiety, grief and sadness, stress, discrimination, perfectionism, OCD, anger, career and relationship issues.

As a bilingual, immigrant, Latina woman of color who decided to move to New York City as an adult, I hold a unique perspective when addressing uncomfortable thoughts, beliefs, and feelings that take away your inner peace and joy. I understand the complexities of everyday life in New York when you come from somewhere else, and the courage and commitment it takes to make meaningful behavioral changes.

Using CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), multiculturally-focused and trauma-informed approaches, I hope to help guide you through the journey of cultivating a more positive relationship with yourself, so that the other relationships in your life, such as at work, with friends, family, or partner, become a reflection of this initial and most important relationship.

Because when you get good with yourself, everything else falls into place.

Education and Experience…

After receiving my Master’s degree in 2021 in Clinical and Health Psychology and Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy in Madrid, Spain, I began practicing CBT and Systemic psychotherapy in my hometown of Cartagena, Colombia with young adults in marginalized situations.

I continued to provide virtual mental health counseling to adults all over the world in 2022 before deciding to deepen my training and knowledge in New York City. My professional experiences made me realize that, in order to have a successful therapeutic relationship and long-lasting recovery, the cultural and social context of every person must be an integral part of every treatment.

I am currently earning my second Master’s degree in the Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness program at NYU Steinhardt.

Therapy isn’t selfish; it’s essential.

Now is your time to finally feel supported
so you can keep supporting the ones you love.
