“The therapist under the supervision of Dr. Ripplinger was able to help me process some of the things I needed help with.”

Jeannette Bautista Alt 900x1200 Working Together…

In our space together, there is room for every version of you: even the far reaches of self hiding in shame can be celebrated and embraced when you feel safe and accepted.

In a non-judgmental, empowering setting, I provide one-on-one, in-person or online therapy with adults who are experiencing intense feelings of guilt, depression and anxiety resulting from the pressure to excel and be accepted for who they are. I work well with entry-level professionals and college students, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks who are struggling with perfectionism, overwhelmed by life transitions, and identity and relationship issues.

Using mindfulness and radical acceptance, we will explore your greatest sources of suffering, while uncovering and accessing inner resources and strengths you may not even realize are there. Therapy isn’t just talking about your problems; you will also learn practical skills for living with purpose and intention as well!

Together, we will identify techniques for relief that help generate more radical love and empathy for yourself in ways that positively impact your capacity to engage with your work, life and relationships with less fear and more authenticity.

As your counselor, I offer unwavering compassion, acceptance, and honesty.

Education and Experience…

For the past five years I have been an educator in the South Bronx working with BIPOC teens to develop their social-emotional skills through a restorative justice framework. My work with young people offers an extremely useful foundation and lens through which to empathize with each stage of the human experience.

My therapeutic style is based in both acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) as well as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with a focus on manifestations of anxiety, depression, and grief.

I am currently studying at Columbia University Teachers College to obtain a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology and Mental Health Counseling Licensure here in New York State. Prior to this, I received my Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Science in Black Studies from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Let’s introduce all of you to yourself.

Understanding yourself and then choosing to celebrate your findings is the work of a lifetime.

I would be honored to join you.
