Working with Lulu…
When you’re overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in your own head, it starts showing up everywhere. You avoid texts, pull away from friends, procrastinate on deadlines, or obsess over decisions because nothing feels quite right. A transition at school, work, or home knocks you off balance. You’re keeping up on the outside, but inside, you’re exhausted and don’t quite feel like yourself.
Together, we’ll look at what’s bringing you to therapy and connect it to the relationships and patterns that have shaped who you are. Sometimes we’ll go deeper. Other times, we’ll focus on practical tools that help you cope with stress and make life feel more manageable.
I work especially well with college students, entry-level professionals, multicultural adults and Gen-Z couples managing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, perfectionism, self-worth, and the emotional toll of minority stress.
As a bilingual therapist (English/Arabic) and international student, I bring a global lens to identity, transition, and belonging. I’m especially passionate about supporting people navigating different cultures, values, family expectations, and ways of belonging. I bring that lens into the room while staying curious about the experiences and identities that have shaped you.
My approach is relational, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that insight should lead somewhere. That might mean getting out of an obsessive thought loop, setting a boundary without drowning in guilt, tolerating uncertainty instead of trying to control it, communicating more directly in your relationships, or learning how to move through anxiety without letting it make your decisions for you.
Education and Experience…
Growing up in Kuwait, I became aware early on of the stigma surrounding mental health and how difficult it can be to talk openly about emotional struggles or seek support – an experience I’ve learned is shared across many immigrant and multicultural communities.
My personal journey led me to pursueI a clinical career centered on making mental health care more accessible, culturally responsive, and deeply human.
Moving to the United States, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boston University. Currently, I’m completing my master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University, where I continue to deepen my clinical training with individuals and couples from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Outside the therapy room, I love long walks, Pilates, discovering new restaurants with people I love, and a good quiet night at home.
Finances should never be a barrier to excellent mental health care.
